Joakim and Eric are going to the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles
This Sunday, February 1, the Grammy Awards will take place in Los Angeles, and Bohuslän Big Band has been nominated together with jazz pianist and composer Danilo Pérez. Representing the big band on site will be saxophonist Joakim Rolandsson and Eric Brandström Arellano, head of programming and planning.

Bohuslän Big Band is awarded 2 million kronor from the Stena Foundation
Bohuslän Big Band is being awarded 2 million kronor from the Stena Foundation. The money will be used between 2027 and 2029 to create four productions together with some of the world’s most prominent jazz artists and conductors.

The album “Lumen” is nominated for a GRAMMY
Tonight all the nominees for the 2026 GRAMMY Awards were announced, and Bohuslän Big Band and Danilo Pérez are nominated in the category “Best Large Ensemble Jazz Album” for their joint album “Lumen”.

After 18 years in the archives – this Friday the album "Shades of Gil Evans" will be released
18 years ago, Bohuslän Big Band recorded music by the arranger and composer Gil Evans. Now, almost two decades later, it is finally time to release the music. On October 17, the album Shades of Gil Evans, will be released.

The album "Lumen" can be nominated for a GRAMMY
Last year, Bohuslän Big Band released the album Lumen together with the Panamanian pianist and composer Danilo Pérez. It has now been confirmed that the album is included in the selection for the GRAMMY Awards 2026 and may be nominated for an American GRAMMY in the category “Best Large Ensemble Jazz Album”.

Today the single "Lester Leaps In" is released
Today, on September 26, Bohuslän Big Band is releasing the single Lester Leaps In from the upcoming album Shades of Gil Evans which will be released in October. In connection with the album release, Bohuslän Big Band will also give concerts at Skeppet in Gothenburg and at Vara Konserthus.
