Born in 1989 and raised on Björkö, in the municipality of Öckerö in Sweden. He started playing alto saxophone at the age of 8. He attended the arts program at Donnergymnasiet in Gothenburg. After that, he completed the jazz program at Ljungskile Folk High School and studied the improvisation musician program at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg. He has also worked as a freelance saxophonist for 8 years.

What are your musical inspirations?

– I listen to, like, and am inspired by a great many different artists, musical styles, etc. From classical to rock, soul, hip hop, and of course jazz. I’m also inspired by a lot of saxophonists, but the ones I most often come back to are: Charlie Parker, Art Pepper, Lee Konitz, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Joe Henderson.

How long have you played in Bohuslän Big Band?

“I got a permanent position in the fall of 2018, but I had already worked as a substitute for the first time in the fall of 2010.”

What is your best memory with Bohuslän Big Band?

“The three-week tour in Japan in 2018 is a very fond memory.”
