Hanne Småvik
Trombone
Born in 1990 in Trondheim, Norway. Hanne Småvik began her musical career playing the euphonium at the age of 8. After about a year, however, she switched to the trombone, which has been her main instrument ever since. She studied at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg, where she completed an undergraduate program in classical music. She has also previously worked as a substitute in orchestras such as the Gävle Symphony Orchestra, the Gothenburg Opera Orchestra, among others.

What are your musical inspirations?
– Getting to play music that sounds good together with others!
How long have you played in Bohuslän Big Band?
“I’ve had a permanent position since 2017; before that, I worked as a substitute for two years.”
What is your best memory with Bohuslän Big Band?
– The tour to Japan that we did in 2018. And the production we did with Maria Schneider.
